Monday night and I am just finally sitting down after a
glorious, beautiful, fun filled weekend.
I know that I am blessed, but sometimes it’s just easier to recognize.
Friday night found me at my usual 4th Friday
haunt; Orchards Civil War Lounge in Chambersburg. It has been a real joy to see the same
couples coming back month after month to ignite their weekend sexy with sultry
jazz in a great little lounge with PERFECT woman lighting (women, YOU
know). I even met some wonderful new
friends celebrating a special anniversary.
Saturday I had the privilege of opening a day of music at
Red Heifer Winery’s 2nd Annual Birthday Bash! It’s been an amazing 2 years with this
wonderful little winery tucked ever so gently on the mountains of Smithsburg,
Md. Red Heifer has become a ‘home place’
for me and I couldn’t be happier. Kevin
and Yvonne (curators and proprietors) are the perfect hosts for both artist and
wine aficionado alike and I look forward to every visit. Saturday was the wind up for music on the
mountain for this season and we had the most amazing weather. God was surely smiling down on us! I sang, I drank (it’s all good, but the Vidal
is my favorite- ask for it when you’re there), I played in the flowers with
Eichholz Flowers, and even had the pleasure to FINALLY hit a couple of tunes
with Chris Smaha on guitar. What a
blast! I also got another chance to hear
Mountain Ride lay down some sweet new bluegrass.
Now it’s Monday.
Monday. Eh. It’s only 6 more days to Friday where I get
to start it all over again. Thorn Hill
Winery & Detour Winery on the books this weekend – Yes Ma’am!
Btw, thank you, thank you, thank you, to those who have
added their 2cents to the Go Fund Me Campaign helping me make this new project
a reality. I’m still about 50cents short
if you want to share some love, so drop by http://www.gofundme.com/fp7u50 and
say hi!
