The stars sing

I've been trying to write for years, or so it seems.  I am one of those people that prefer to be in a relaxed, stress free, quiet environment to write and compose new music.  As you can well imagine, my life, as yours, is often not conducive to that ideal.
A friend of mine took a sabbatical last year for a time at a Monastery to reconnect and refresh.  I have been considering it.  Just for a couple of days.  Time to let silence wash over me like a gentle wave and allow myself to be swept away by the music of the earth.   Raindrops on the roof, bird song on the lawn, the moan the breeze exhales when it rushes through the pines.
Those are just a few of course.  God has surrounded us with music.  If we believe the world began with a word, a “bang” if you choose, of the voice of the Almighty, then is not music the essence of our being?  Music has been with us and in us since before time began.  Did you know that the stars sing?  Astronomers have recorded this amazing music of the universe.  If these that are millions, billions of years in age still sing their ancient songs how many more songs swirl around us every day at every moment and every second that we, in our rush that is life, refuse to hear?
It’s time for me to hear.  Not just listen but hear.  Quiet everything around me and let the songs of the universe whisper their songs to my soul.

Stay tuned.  I’ll share here as my soul is stirred.

  1. Look how advanced we've become...to be able to hear the stars sing...to KNOW that they sing...what a surprise! Well, unless you happened to stumble across an ancient writing that already spoke about the singing stars...a book that whispers of time travel and string theory and that knew before knowing that the universes were beyond counting...measuring...fathoming. It's one of my favorite books...and I love to watch the years roll by and see how long it takes for science to catch up to my Bible. :)
